CDIL Protests Congressman Rodney Davis’ office

On Monday, August 25, members of CDIL protested Congressman Rodney Davis’ District Office in Normal, Illinois. The purpose of the protest was to highlight Rodney Davis’ choice to vote against more than 100,000 college students in his district in an attempt to balance the budget on the backs of students.

As students are heading back to campuses across the state of Illinois, many are returning with higher student loan interest rates because of Davis’ votes in Congress. Illinois students need a Representative who will stand up and make college more affordable for Illinois families.

“We need to be holding our Representatives accountable for their actions in Congress and how they impact us,” said College Democrats of Illinois Communications Director Annie Kehler, a student at Illinois Wesleyan University. “Davis has made it clear that he doesn’t care about making college affordable for the students and their families in his district.”
